In other news that matters to me, Gaylen Gerber has a show at Wallspace (619 W. 27th St, NY 10001)

Gaylen Gerber, Untitled, graphite on paper, mat board, painted frame, 32 x 40” Do you know? I wonder about this caption. I pulled it from the Wallspace site. It seems a little unlikely to me. On the other hand Gerber's objects have often managed to confound me with simplicity, so who knows? Isn't the color great?

Gaylen Gerber, Untitled, graphite on paper, mat board, painted frame, 32 x 40” Aha! See? Each caption is the same. Well, not entirely the same. Aargh, I don't know. Interacting in an online context with an art practice that is "about" interacting with context is... well, you get the idea. If you're in NY go see the show.

Evan Holloway has a solo at Harris Lieberman right now, as does Zak Precop.

Hmm. 1 PM CA time. Here I stop. Lisa Lapinski at Taka Ishi, Stephanie Taylor at Marc Jancou, Elad Lassry at Luhring Augustine, Brenna Youngblood at Tilton, and other transcontinental /  transnational LA art news later. Possibly much later………

  1. The gerber installation image which confounds you is simply a framed graphite on paper drawing turned towards the wall.

  2. Sweet. Thanks Adam! It’s good to sort of connect with you. We crossed paths at Gala’s opening and I missed meeting you. I’d like to. My email is [email protected] – I think perhaps yours is included somehow in your comment. (I’m hopeful to figure that one out soon.) Cheers.
