Brandon Lattu has an interesting offsite project with the MAK Center until October 16. “Reciprocity of Light” at 2861 W. Avenue 35, LA, 90065 – Wednesdays and Saturdays 4 PM to 8 PM.
Not having visited yet I’m only able to quote from aforementioned email blast. Lattu’s “R o L” is an artwork that revitalizes the basic aspect of photography: a surface sensitized to the interruption of light projected from a single, focused source. In this piece, the artist has sensitized an entire room to demonstrate the increasingly conjoined ideas of image, architecture and the body of the viewer. The resulting work causes the projection of the viewer’s body to become an image as well as a sculptural component of the piece.
Opening this weekend at UCR’s California Museum of Photography is Joey Lehman Morris “But First, Define the Mountain” an exhibition of photographs curated by Kristine Thompson.
More soon. Or a little later.
